It’s a quandry right? What look to go for? Do you opt for a symmetrical traditional
And that’s of course before we even mention the word bridal hair comb. Or set of wedding hair pins. (Shall we whisper the option of a super versatile vine).
Here at Chez Bec, we’ve designed our 2015 bridal accessory collection with you all in mind. We don’t believe in rules. We believe in variety, and we believe in you following your OWN style, not ours.
On our latest shoot, we loved finding different ways to style our pieces. Take the Penelope Hair vine which we styled in two totally different ways…
In terms of choosing your Wedding Tiara or Wedding Hair band, we’d always start with the dress. Seriously ladies, get the dress first. And then try a few differnt looks at your fitting. Are you wearing your hair up or down? Because those beautiful pins you saw won’t stay where you want them too if you’re going to be rocking loose curls. But if you are having that hair in a neat chignon, or a french plait, hello pins! You can finish it off to perfection.
We’ve always been advocates of rocking your own style, which is why nearly all our designs can be tweaked to your requirements. The reality is, it’s not as simple as thinking ‘tiara or headband’ when there are so many different designs to choose from. And of course, while a tiara may give you that symmetrical look you love, there is the modern take on the tiara which is even in design, but gives it a little edge. Our Sienna II headband takes it’s inspiration from traditional, but brings it bang up to date with a pretty applique (and it’s super easy to wear too).
On our most recent shoot, we styled the headband with a simple messy up do, and we adore how it looks.
In summary, never be afraid to try lots of different styles (and why not think about two? One for the day, one for the evening – we’ve always been keen on not limiting the sparkle!). And let your dress lead the way. If you’re wearing a simple style, you may be all about blinging up the hair, but if you’ve got a big dress, the veil, a bolero and lots going on, don’t be afraid to keep it simple.
Having been designing accessories for a decade now, we know that fashions change, but we also know the best thing to do is to go for what you love… Coming up for eleven years of marrige (eek!) I still know that I choose the right thing for me – for a simple up do, I accessorised with simple silk flowers (these Iris hair pins are our 2015 equivalent and will be added to our online shop this week!)
